In The Shadows of Belize

Belizean Clyde Gillette talks about his documentary film "In The Shadows Of Belize" to Festival director Suzette Zayden at the 2010 Locations Expo in Santa Monica, California. Clyde was one of the many Belizean that were there to support us in our effort to introduce Belize to the film community. The Locations Expo was our first step as we implement our plan for 2010/11. The expo was such a positive experience for us that we plan to back next year with our own Film Belize booth.

Hanging Out With The Belize Film Commissioner

Come and hang out with me at AFCI April 15th 16th & 17th as we go through the process of registering the Belize Film Commission with the association. We are attending the expo as a guest this year so that we can see exactly what we are up against when it comes to attracting films to Belize. Next year we plan on having a booth and being ready to present Belize to the filming world.

The Greening Of The Belize Film Commission

Belize Film Commission is on the verge of going green. As Film Commissioner of Belize I travel all over the country to find the perfect location. Yesterday I had the pleasure of spending the day with Ms. Simon at her nursery at mile 43 1/2 on the Western Highway. During my visit I found a wonderful way for us to promote the country and the Belize Film Commission. We're going to share our natural resources with the rest of the world. This nursery is the perfect location for filming and the artwork that Ms. Simon makes from the trees, termite nest, and coconut shells are perfect little gifts for our guest to take back with them. It's amazing how nothing on the property goes to waste every thing has a dual function.
