Quitting Time/ The Cast and Crew

The Martini Shot on Caye Caulker, this was an amazing day, being a part of a production really brings everyone together. We shot this day with a skeleton crew and everybody had to do double duty since we were a bit short handed. The beauty of the show is that there is a Taste Of Belize in every aspect of life in the country. In future episodes we plan on showing you the best that country has to offer, I truly believe that Belizean cuisine is one par with any food from around the world. The fact that you can enjoy it while looking at a sunrise or a sunset like the one we are watching from the roof of bar at "The Split" just reconfirms that Belize is truly a magical place. Come join us in July down here in paradise for the Belizean International Film Festival July 16th - July 24th 2010 and experience your own "Taste Of Belize"

It's Differnt On TV, In Real Life It's Simple Amazing

This was Chef Keith Jones first time in the water, he was amazed at how clear the water was and the fact that he could sea all types of fish swinging around the boat. It was quite an experience for him because at an early age he had a bad episode with a neighborhood friend and he almost drowned. Kudos Big Keith for stepping up to the plate and confronting your fears and eventually getting in the water. You can see more of Chef Jones and his Belizean experience on the new TV Show "A Taste Of Belize". For more information please visit www.nichbelize.org www.belizefilmcommission.org

Ras Creek our local chef and tour guide from Caye Caulker has his hands full with our little eight tentacle guest star. The Octopus was very fond of Ras Creek and didn't want to let go. You catch Orlando The Octopus and Ras Creek on the 3rd episode of the show "A Taste Of Belize" with celebrity chef Keith Jones. Channel 5 Belize, Morning Show

The directors of Sinbad were the toast of Belize, during the pre production phase of the movie, they were asked to do several talk shows and to make themselves available to the press. Channel 5 morning show was one of the first shows they did and they had a wonderful time. The morning show, Open Your Eyes is one of Belize's more popular shows attracting about 60% of the Belizean viewing audience. The chemistry on the show is amazing the co-host really know how to make their guest feel right at home. Thumbs up William & Marleni keep up the good work.

Belizean Pineapple "Taste Of Belize

Here is another perk to filming in Belize, the hospitality is amazing. Producer, Jeff Pogue of Media Oblingata Productions enjoys some sweet fresh fruit along with the awesome scenery of the Belizean countryside. During Jeff's visit, he was quoted as saying "Belize has the best that nature has to offer". I like to think that we can supply you with the canvas for you to create your masterpiece, as film commissioner of Belize it's my duty to make sure that everyone's filming experience is a positive one. So go ahead Jeff and enjoy that delicious Belizean Pineapple there's plenty more where that came from.

Chef Keith Jones "Taste Of Belize"

Chef Keith Jones, the host of "Taste Of Belize" shares his culinary experiences with us as he travels through the country of Belize. On this particular day of shooting we catch up with our host as he prepares to embark on a magical journey with Local Tour Guide Ras Creek and Belize's Local Sports legend Clinton "Pulu" Lightburn. This particular tour will take you around the island of Caye Caulker and through the beautiful waters of the Caribbean Sea. We will see Chef Jones interact with a friendly Sting Ray as he take his first dip in the warm healing waters of Belize. The Cayes are a series of islands off the coast of Belize that are protected by our Barrier Reef. The beauty of Belize and the series of islands that run the coast line is that they are close to the mainland in distance, but miles away in the ambiance that each Caye creates. Every single Caye has a personality and a lifestyle of it's own so you can island hop for the whole day and really get a different Taste of Belize in a short period of time. Travel safely and we hope you enjoy the video. Taste of Belize will be aired on Colours TV during Winter 2010. Colours TV is a Denver based, multi-cultural networked, which is carried on Dish Satellite with a viewing market of about 19 million households.

Ras Creek On A Taste Of Belize

The behind the scene footage from the show was amazing, as we started to edit the hours of footage we found a few gems that we will be sharing. This footage of Ras Creek is pretty good and it gives you a real good feel of what people will experience once they visit Caye Caulker. We plan on going back to capture more of the island and to visit a local hang out called "The Split" and a restaurant called "The WishWilly".

Ras Creek & Our Friendly Stingray

Caye Caulker, Belize: "This is Truly Paradise"

Spending the day with Ras Creek "The Original Rasta" that trained the Stingrays at Belize's first Shark & Ray Reserve. This beautiful Sanctuary was discovered many years ago and was made a reserve back in the early 80's. The man in the video, Ras Creek is a pioneer when it comes to official tour guides on Caye Caulker. He is simply the best at giving you the history of the island and if you want to be a part of what's going on during the tour this guy allows you to be an active participant in your tour. When we first met Ras Creek and his colorful boat, my first thought was what are we getting into, we had our camera crew a host prepping for this tour but not really knowing what to expect. The minute that we stepped into his world he took us on this incredible journey and then half way through the boat ride we stopped in the middle of the Caribbean Sea and we got a chance to become one with nature. This behind the scenes footage just gives you a small "Taste Of Belize" and what the country has to offer. Please continue to follow the Blog and be a part of what we are doing at The Belize Film Commission. We look forward to sharing our country and our experiences with you. Happy New Years

The Roof Top View From Las Terrazas

These views say so much to so many people, we sort of get spoiled and tend to take it for granted that the beauty of Belize isn't something special. While filming the TV Series "The Taste Of Belize" we were very fortunate to be able to film at the Las Terrazas Resort. Las Terrazas is one of Belize's newest high end properties that is very elegant but yet affordable for the amenities that you get on property. The commitment from the owners, The Camden Group to enhance the natural beauty of the coastline of the island is only matched by the precision to details that you see in every single unit that you go into, no guest is left wanting. I see big things for the resort and the island of Ambergris Caye, Belize is ready for the big time and with places like Las Terrazas leading the way we will reach a new level of excellence in the very near future. I truly enjoyed working with the staff while we were filming and the property is really production friendly. I look forward to going back and using them again for another production.
