Welcome To Caye Caulker

Ras Creek, the original Rasta was quite entertaining and informative during the tour of Shark & Ray Reserve. Caye Caulker is a beautiful island with a charm and personality of it's own. It seems to be a favorite for filming, we are getting a lot of questions about the island and one of it's most popular inhabitants, Ras Creek. The island reminds me of Venice Beach, California with all the eclectic personalities and interesting architectural structures. The Island is going through a wonderful stage of development with the northern part of the island becoming an attractive option to San Pedro, Ambergris Caye. The southern part of Caye Caulker which is more developed is very popular with the locals as well as the younger tourist. This island will give you the best of both worlds when all development is completed, something for your high end tourist and something for the bargain hunters. At the end of the day Belize has something for everyone. I have to tell you that our crew really enjoyed our time on Caye Caulker and I look forward to doing many more projects there, some of the crew members took a break and talked about the island and the experiences they had. Two of our crew members were a part of the Belize Film Commission trainee program so this was really special for them to be a part. I was really impressed with how they worked and followed directions from our lead cameraman Steve Roberts, and the professionalism and pride that they carried to the workplace because they were doing something that represented Belize. I hope everyone that sees our show "A Taste Of Belize" really enjoys it, and I hope that in 2010 more local Belizeans learn to really enjoy Belize.

Ras Creek & Our Friendly Stingray

Caye Caulker, Belize: "This is Truly Paradise"

Spending the day with Ras Creek "The Original Rasta" that trained the Stingrays at Belize's first Shark & Ray Reserve. This beautiful Sanctuary was discovered many years ago and was made a reserve back in the early 80's. The man in the video, Ras Creek is a pioneer when it comes to official tour guides on Caye Caulker. He is simply the best at giving you the history of the island and if you want to be a part of what's going on during the tour this guy allows you to be an active participant in your tour. When we first met Ras Creek and his colorful boat, my first thought was what are we getting into, we had our camera crew a host prepping for this tour but not really knowing what to expect. The minute that we stepped into his world he took us on this incredible journey and then half way through the boat ride we stopped in the middle of the Caribbean Sea and we got a chance to become one with nature. This behind the scenes footage just gives you a small "Taste Of Belize" and what the country has to offer.
